Cancer vaccines coming to your clinic soon.

Scientists have successfully modified a virus in order to produce a therapeutic vaccine to protect against various cancers. The cancer vaccine was able to elicit a positive response in early human cancer trials, but only a small number of patients were tested.
In addition, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has recently approved a prostate cancer vaccine, called Provenge. The ideal behind therapeutic cancer vaccines is that cancer patients usually have immune system defects, which is the factor that compromises their ability to adequately respond to malignancy. The cancer vaccine works by activating immune cells, which are the ones that have to kill tumors. These immune cells must be able to survive long enough so they can reach the tumor and then eliminate it.
In another vaccine cancer research study, the cancer vaccine was administered to 28 patients, who had recurrent and advanced forms of colon, lung, pancreatic, appendix, or breast cancer. The vaccine was given to them multiple times over a three-month period. These patients had already failed standard chemotherapy numerous times. As a result, five of the patients demonstrated a response to the vaccine. Two patients had already been in remission, but they stayed in remission. Another two had their cancers stabilize. In one of the patients, who had pancreatic cancer, a liver lesion seemed to have disappeared. The responses were more likely to occur in those patients who had smaller tumors, as well as those who were given higher doses of the cancer vaccine.

7 Facts about the Sunscreen Cancer Manufacturers Do Not Want You to Know – part 2

- According to Dr. Gordon Ainsleigh’s estimates, the 17% rise in breast cancer, which was observed from 1991 to 1992 could actually have been caused by the almost obsessive sunscreen use throughout the past decade.
- Certain recent studies have also shown that men who regularly used sunscreens had a higher rate of melanoma. Women who regularly used sunscreens have been found to have a higher basal cell carcinoma rate.
- According to the estimates of Dr. Ainsleigh, 30,000 yearly cancer-related deaths in the U.S. alone could be prevented, if only people subjected themselves to moderate sun
exposure instead of using so much sunscreen.
Clearly the answer is to change the way we do things in summer. We should spend less time under the sun in the heat of the day instead of going out and relying on sunscreen. The false sense of security that sunscreen has produced could be very dangerous to your health..

7 Facts about the Sunscreen Cancer Manufacturers Do Not Want You to Know

As most people are aware, over-exposure to a significant dose of UV radiation results in sunburn. Sunburn increases the risk of getting wrinkles, and, worst of all, skin cancer. Breast lump removal surgery

Breast lump removal surgery is done when there is a lump in the breast tissue which needs to be removed. This can be required because the lump is cancerous, or because it is a cyst which keeps recurring, or for other reasons as well. If a biopsy of the lump tissue shows any reason for concern it may be better to have breast lump removal surgery and remove the entire mass. This procedure can be done in a doctor’s office as an outpatient or in the hospital operating room, depending on where the lump is, how deep it is located, and the size of the tissue being removed. These procedures may involve a local anesthesia, a general anesthesia, sedatives, or a combination of these methods.

What are the first signs of breast cancer?

The first signs of breast cancer are usually small, and may not be noticed right away as something unusual. There are a number of signs which can be early warning symptoms that breast cancer may be a problem. Normally the first thing you may notice is a lump, and this is typically hard but does not have any pain or tenderness. Half of these lumps are found in the upper part of the breast, and most of the others occur near the nipple area although the lump can appear at any place in your breast tissues. Another sign you may notice is that your affected breast no longer seems asymmetrical with the other one. During your menstrual cycle you may notice lumps that go away within a short time, but lumps which are one of the first signs of breast cancer will not go away even after your menstrual cycle has ended.

What are the symptoms of breast cancer in male?

Breast cancer in male patients is possible, it is not just women who can end up with this disease although many more women than men are diagnosed with this condition each year. Although rare, male breast cancer can strike at any age and either breast may be affected. One of the most common symptoms that you may notice is a lump, one that is usually not painful or tender. Often this lump will be in the nipple area, but it can be in other areas and tissues of the breast as well. Breast cancer in male breast tissue is treated the same as it is in female breast tissue, and one of the symptoms in both sexes are swelling of the lymph nodes in the armpit area. This can occur because these lymph nodes are affected by the cancer cells, and are trying to fight them off.

Direct Link Between Stress and Cancer

Is there a direct link between stress and cancer? The effects of stress are still not completely known by science, but there is some evidence that stress affects the immune system, and there are theories which attribute this to increased rates of cancer. Emotional stress management is a good idea for many reasons, and it can have a beneficial effect on your immune system. There has been no proven direct link between stress and cancer yet, but there is also no proof that this link does not exist either. There were some scientific studies on this subject in Denmark, and the results from these studies did not really show any link. In one study more than eleven thousand parents who had a child with cancer were studied, because a terminal illness in a child is considered very stressful. The parents showed no increase in the rate of cancers than the control group, even up to eighteen years after the fact.
