Aspirin may Play Another Helpful Role in Recovering from Cancer

A study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology was conducted with a group of men that were being treated for prostate cancer. Those men that were also taking showed a significant survival rate, when compared to those that were not taking aspirin.

While this study was not the typical scientific gold standard, it is being added to a more extensive group of research involving aspirin as part of a cancer treatment regiment. As an anticoagulant, the benefits of aspirin have been expanding in medical research. In some studies, those patients taking aspirin had a significant less percentage of recurring cancer. Additional research is needed to encompass a larger variety of cancer types, to gauge whether aspirin should play a more important role in cancer treatment.
