Of those surveyed, a majority feel that their overall life quality will remain the same or improve. This covered such areas physical and mental health, finances, family situations and recreation. The results seem to puzzle the researchers, however, when other gerontologists were consulted, they weren’t surprised. It is very common for seniors to be happier, now that the stress has been removed from their lives involving child rearing and every day work. The industry refers to it as the U shaped curve: we are most satisfied in our youth, but then again in older age.
