What Is Smart Liposuction?
Smart liposuction is a procedure where a laser is placed just under the skin. The laser fires pulses causing fat cells to rupture and break up. The cells are then easily drained away. This is a very innovative liposuction procedure. Smart liposuction is making traditional liposuction lose its edge, becoming less popular. Smart liposuction was developed by Cyosure and is a revolution in fat removal, giving realistic meaning to the phrase “it melts fat away.”
SmartLipo is a fantastic way to remove unwanted body fat through a low-pain, highly efficient process. Now patients won’t have to take the time for all of those required office visits necessary for traditional liposuction. It does away with large cannulas, and uses instead, instruments and specialized technology to zap fat cells for contouring and reshaping all areas of the body. These include: the abdomen, love handles, thighs, hips, arms, neck, back, knees, and chin.
Although Smart liposuction is highly effective, it is only suitable for patients wanting to lose only small amounts of fat. Smart liposuction does not provide very good results for people who want to lose large amounts of body fat.
Smart liposuction works by utilizing laser technology. A liposuction doctor uses a precise and powerful beam of light that was created and specifically calibrated to liquefy fat deposits through the top layers of a patient’s skin. After a small incision is made, the laser is then inserted using a small cannula, or tube. Once the laser ruptures the fat cells, they are then removed through the same incision. Because the laser seals blood vessels as it is liquefying the fat cells, there is less bleeding, bruising and swelling. Smart liposuction is FDA approved, and research has shown that little, if any, fat is reabsorbed into the body.
