The thought of being placed in surgery for beauty reasons alone scare many people. Others are fearful of the risks associated with the anesthesia. Thankfully, there is non invasive cosmetic surgery methods that have been fine tuned to offer incredible benefits without the high risks of standard surgery.

Non Invasive Cosmetic Surgery

Non invasive cosmetic surgery is usually recommended to address specific problems regarding the aging process. This may include topics for sagging skin, fatty deposits, wrinkling, excessive hair growth and skin irregularities. There are a variety of selections in the non invasive category:

Accent laser treatment is typically a small laser that penetrates the lower areas of the skin with radiofrequencies and heat therapy. Used for cellulite removal, the heat breaks apart the cellulite and allows it to be eliminated through the natural body functions. A forty five minute outpatient procedure that will require around three to six total treatments.

Radiothermaplasty is used to firm up sagging portions of the body. It may be recommended for sagging arms, buttocks, abdomen and tummy area or the thigh areas. Dermabrasion is used to remove scar tissue that has been cause by acne, chicken pox or other causes. The external epidermis is frozen and is then sanded off with a mechanical device. When new skin forms it will be and new. An outpatient procedure that can take from 30 minutes to an hour, depending upon the condition of the skin and the scar tissue that needs to be removed. Repeat treatments may be needed.

Chemical Peels are an acid solution that is placed on the skin to remove the outer cell layers. Available in three levels: Superficial, medium depth and a deep peel. Used to change the pores of the skin and reduce lines and wrinkles. An outpatient procedure that can take from a few minutes to a couple of hours, depending upon the procedure. Multiple treatments may be needed, depending upon which level and the effect needed.

More recently, there has been an increase in popularity in the use of Botox and collagen injections. There have been a number of controversial situations that have hit the media on both types of non invasive cosmetic surgery. Botox injections are actually a neurotoxic protein that is produced by a bacterium. Injections are carefully placed in specific areas of the muscle to help to eliminate sagging. It can take twenty minutes to an hour and is an outpatient procedure. Follow up treatments will be necessary. Collagen injections are to treat minor skin imperfections and have recently been used to give the lips a more full appearance. You might have seen a few of the older movie stars right after a collagen injection. They look like they were hit in the mouth! It is also used to enhance the cheek area. An outpatient procedure that can take twenty minutes to an hour.

    Still can't decide on whether to do a botox procedure or not. It is just what I need (lines on forehead). Is it really OK though to be willing injecting oneself with toxins? (like there aren't enough already!). Is it really worth it?
