Folic acid, a water soluble form of Vitamin B, lowers high cholesterol which in turn lowers your risk for heart disease and heart attacks. Folic acid is especially important for pregnant women. Below are 10 foods that are rich in folic acid and are part of a healthy diet.
Asparagus is a great addition to any dinner and one cup provides 79mcg of folic acid. It actually has the highest amount of folic acid out of any vegetable! In addition, asparagus contains no fat and cholesterol and has low sodium content.
With more folic acid than spinach, Okra is a delicious way to get some folic acid in your diet. Not only is loaded with folic acid, but Okra also removes excess cholesterol and toxins from your body while helping to regulate your gastro-intestinal tract.
