You forgot to mention #8 that spicy foods have long been considered to be sexual stimulants. Capsaicin, the active ingredient in cayenne pepper can cause increased heart rate and metabolism

Dear Jerry,

You are correct about #8 benefit. Yes, indeed, many spices work as sexual stimulants, including cayenne pepper. More information about sexual stimulants can be found in ED Problems section on this website.

I got # 9 for you! Pepper spray used by police and security personnel to subdue violent suspects. It can also be used to subdue assailants and animals. It's not a health benefit though :)

Dear Tom,

Cayenne is the capital of French Guiana, an overseas department of France in South America. That is where cayenne pepper was originally from.

Dear Nancy,

The Cayenne IS a red, hot chili pepper used to flavor dishes. You can read more about cayenne pepper on Wikipedia.

Some people can't live without their cup of coffee in the morning. I can't live without my cup of warm cayenne water with a twist of lemon in the morning. It gives me energy that lates all day. It also cuts my appetite and I have lost weight. Now I've read other benefits cayenne has. Wow who knew. Lastly I just love the taste.
