1) October is National Breast Cancer
Awareness Month. Launched 25 years ago, this campaign was intended to raise national breast cancer
awareness across the country. According to NCI – the National Cancer Institute – the estimates predict that 1 in 8 American women will develop breast cancer at some point in her lifetime. The specific breast cancer causes remain unknown. Nevertheless, research does show that breast cancer risk increases with age. This serious illness is highly uncommon in women under 35. Women over 50 are much more likely to get breast cancer, and this risk is even higher for those women who are over 60.
