Wow. I never knew about gallbladder cancer - which my father died from - let alone appendix cancer. This is some scary stuff when you think about considering that for the most part the appendix really has not function in the human body. Thanks for presenting this information. It's really good to know.

My wife Pauline of 25 years died 2 weeks ago from Appendix cancer. She survived for 3 1/2 years.

My husband had an appendectomy last year for what was thought normal acute appendicitis. The doctor called a couple of weeks after surgery and told us that the appendix actually had a malignant tumor on it and we shouldn't worry being as they took out the appendix altogether and that the tumor hadn't started spreading. Should I still be concerned? Hubby is a smoker, has sleep apnea, is on coumadin for having an episode of multiple pulmonary embolism, just a slew of problems at his young age of nearing 37yrs old.
