What is Adenocarcinoma Cancer? – Updated Article With Extra Information on Adenocarcinoma Treatment

Adenocarcinoma cancer mostly has to do with the lungs; however, it is a glandular tissue cancer, which can affect cells in this type of tissue. This can include breast, stomach, cervix, prostate, colon, and pancreas, as well as other organs. Adenocarcinoma lung cancer is responsible for more or less 40 percent of cases of lung cancer annually diagnosed, which is why it is most commonly associated with the lungs.

Adenocarcinoma cancer symptoms can significantly vary, depending on the internal organs and the glandular tissue affected. Regardless of the organ affected by the adenocarcinoma cancer, there are some common symptoms. These may include discomfort or pain that starts out severe or gradually worsens, unexpected or unexplained bleeding from an area or orifice in the body, fatigue, an unexplained lump, or unexpected weight loss without dieting. If any of these symptoms are present, you should speak to your doctor instead of brushing them off, which may lead to serious consequences. Because mostly internal organs are affected by adenocarcinoma cancer, there may not be many visible signs of it in the beginning.

Early detection and immediate treatment will certainly increase your chances of surviving and beating adenocarcinoma lung cancer and other cancers. You should avoid chemical exposures, tobacco smoking, and other cancer risks, because these will make you more susceptible to adenocarcinoma cancer. Any cancer survival rate usually depends on various factors, such as the type of cancer, the stage of cancer, and the tissues affected.

Adenocarcinoma treatment may include chemotherapy, hormone therapy, radiation therapy, biological therapy, and even surgery. One method or a combination of methods may be used, depending on the patient’s general health and age, the location and type of cancer, whether the disease has spread, and various other factors. Cancer treatment often causes unwanted side effects, since it damages healthy tissues along with malicious ones. Some patients worry that some of these side effects may actually be worse than the cancer itself. However, before proceeding with adenocarcinoma treatment, doctors will usually sit down with the patients and discuss the benefits and possible risks of the chosen type of treatment. Doctors will usually suggest ways to minimize these side effects.

The practices described above are all examples of conventional adenocarcinoma treatment. Innovative adenocarcinoma treatment may include hormone therapy, chemoembolization, stem cell transplantation, photodynamic therapy, and more. Alternative adenocarcinoma treatment may enhance the conventional treatment, as well as minimize and manage general cancer side effects. Patients are free to explore various types of alternative treatments, such as mind-body medicine, nutritional support, spiritual support, and naturopathic therapies. It is beneficial to explore the entire range of therapies for cancer, rather than just focusing on traditional treatments.

My younger sister died too of a lung cancer but her records indicated adeno carcinoma which is a glandular type of cancer. This type of cancer can spread to your lungs. I believe she actually had uterine cancer and it spread to her lungs. Her liver and kidneys also had cancer. You should research adenocarcinoma. Sorry for your loss Brenda.
