3 More Deadly Misdiagnosed Diseases

In addition to Stroke, Heart Attack, Cancer there are 3 more illnesses and diseases that are deadly when misdiagnosed.

Deadly Misdiagnosed Diseases

1) Infection
Whether it’s a minor or life-threatening infection, infection is one of the most commonly misdiagnosis. Serious infections can lead to illness, loss of limbs and even death. Small infections that can often go unnoticed, especially skin infections, can spread to other organs in the body and cause more severe symptoms

2) Coronary Artery Disease
Most doctors equate shortness of breath with being overweight and out of shape. The problem with this symptom is that it could also be something serious: Coronary Artery Disease. When arterial plaque increases it prevents blood from properly circulating throughout your body. This can lead to a fatal heart attack if left unchecked.
3) Thyroid Disease
Thyroid disease affects close to 27 million Americans, and if left untreated, can lead to more severe illnesses including congestive heart failure. Most of the symptoms are gradual and non-specific but can include increased blood pressure and cholesterol and weight loss or weight gain. Other symptoms, sadness and fatigue, are often misdiagnosed as simply depression. If your psychiatric drugs are not working, you may want to have your thyroid tested. Thyroid disease can either occur from an inflamed thyroid that overproduces T3 and T4 hormones (hyperthyroidism) or hypothyroidism which occurs when your thyroid is unable to produce T3 and T4 hormones. Since it is easily misdiagnosed, address any deficiencies in your treatment.

Always make sure your doctor is ordering a full panel of tests to properly diagnose any of these diseases. Mention all of your symptoms and alert the doctor if their course of treatment is not working.
